Without any further additions, the list starts off with the tenth biggest casino and builds its way up to the biggest of them all:

10. Casino Lisboa in Lisbon, Portugal

With the gaming surface of 165,000 square feet, Casino Lisboa located in the Park of the Nations in Lisbon is a great way to start the list. It is one of the big landmarks in the capital city of Portugal and it is also the largest casino in Europe.

It first opened its doors to the public in 2006 and it is owned by Estoril-Sol, with a sister casino by the same name in Macau. The story of Casino Lisboa is not without some controversy as the idea which first came to life in 2001 was not met with open arms when the mayor at the time proposed it. While the idea was to use the luxurious casino to help rebuild the theater district in the city, there were concerns about it being located in a big urban center and not in a tourist area. Granting younger citizens access to gambling games was considered to cause issues but the plans finally went through a year later and the result was very impressive.
