Sporting Solutions has managed to secure a tender with Norwegian state-run operator Norsk Tipping. The supplier will now start supplying the operator with pricing and risk-management services.
This offer of tender followed a competitive procurement process where six companies bid for the opportunity to deliver data and risk-management services for Norsk Tipping’s new sports betting solution. The services offered by Sporting Solutions will be integrated into the sports betting solution that will be powered by Optima, which landed an initial six-year contract with Norsk Tipping last year. Optima’s contract includes the option of three two-year extensions.
Optima’s contract also gives them the opportunity to power integrated sports data feed and trading services from sports betting services supplier Sportradar, which agreed to buy Optima in October 2019. With this new partnership with Sporting Solutions, Norsk Tipping becomes the latest lottery to benefit from the supplier’s fully-automated suite of risk-management services. It joins the ranks of Danish giants Danske Spil as the supplier’s partner in the highly-regulated Nordic market.
Sporting Solutions’ risk-management algorithms are known for applying and integrating advanced economic techniques that they borrowed from the financial markets. These algorithms have been designed specifically to help gaming operators drive volume, improve pricing efficiency, and optimise returns. The partnership will also have Norsk Tipping gaining access to Sporting Solutions’ proprietary trading software, which will enable them to offer localised content set apart from private operator offerings.
Sporting Solutions Marketing Director Ed Peace expressed his delight over their company being chosen by the operator, saying: “Being chosen by Norsk Tipping after a thorough and competitive public procurement process is a fantastic outcome for Sporting Solutions and testament to the innovation and leadership we continue to show in the fields of pricing and risk management. We are very proud to announce Norsk Tipping as our latest lottery partner and believe our shared vision, proven track record, and market-leading offering will provide the solutions for Norsk Tipping to drive bottomline growth and deliver a market-leading experience for its customers.”
For their part, Norsk Tipping Director of Customer and Market Operations Thorbjørn A. Unneberg has this to say: “In today’s competitive sports betting environment, we are constantly looking for solutions to strengthen our product and operations. In the procurement process, Sporting Solutions scored strongly across the board, and we’re confident its attractive value proposition will support Norsk Tipping in our continuous efforts to deliver the best responsible gaming experiences to our players in the future.”
